Cristie introduces the "Self Service Portal" – The MSP Revenue Engine

Can you manage hundreds or even thousands of customers on a single cyber-resilient recovery platform? Now you can! With the Cristie Self-Service Portal, your engineers can effortlessly support and manage thousands of customers from one centralized location. The platform simplifies billing management for different agreements, pricing, and terms, and provides automated daily reports for your customers.

Additionally, new features such as S3-to-tape integration can be easily added. With this enhanced capability, your revenue engine will drive more income for your Managed Service platform—efficiently and with ease.

New Feature: Managed S3-to-Tape Support

We are excited to announce the integration of PoINT software, which now provides S3-to-Tape solutions as an Archival Gateway within Cloutility's Self-Service Portal user management interface. This integration simplifies the user-friendly inclusion of a tape storage class. Cloud providers can now offer a cost-effective Glacier-like storage class, allowing their customers to create users and buckets as tenants and manage authorizations directly through the Cloutility interface. Additionally, Cloutility facilitates the configuration of subscription-based recurring billing automation for all tenants.

"We are thrilled about this value-added feature, which helps MSPs provide immutable copies of data on WORM media. Service providers can now offer a new long-term data retention service with secure storage options for their customers," says Magnus Thunberg, Sales Manager at Cristie.

"Yes, and the support extends to lots of backup and storage systems," adds Thomas Bak, CEO of Auwau. "Because of the extensive support in PoINT Archival Gateway for third party systems, Cloutility now allows for the as-a-service handling of many object storage vendors, backup vendors, and applications. Our partners have this feature available directly in the Self-Service portal and can purchase PoINT as a gateway into their data center."

Key Features in the the Self Service Portal

Cloutility offers a secure and robust, multi-tenant model that allows for the efficient distribution of centralized backup infrastructure to various end clients—directly or through a network of distributors and resellers.

  • Self-Service
The Cloutility web-portal provides an easy-to-use user interface (UI) that enables end users to access self-service features. By assigning the appropriate privileges, users can log in and manage their needs independently. In a managed service provider setup, end users might include internal administrators, finance operators, external partner administrators, and end-client users (either as admins or read-only users). The solution also supports single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA/2FA).

  • Multi-Tenancy
The secure, built-in multi-tenant model allows for flexibility in representing any organizational structure or distribution model. For instance, a distributor can be added with login credentials to manage their reseller network. Resellers, in turn, can log in to add their end customers, who can view status, alerts, and usage across their departments, server groups, and servers. Each level and business unit can have users with role-based privileges tailored to their job responsibilities.

  • Automated Billing
No cloud service is complete without automated subscription-based billing. The Cloutility platform includes a built-in billing system that offers flexibility and allows for full automation of recurring billing processes. Billing outputs are available via the built-in REST API or can be downloaded in CSV and JSON formats from the web portal or automatically sent via email. The billing data is plug-and-play ready for integration with your invoicing system, and Cloutility can even be configured to email invoices to customers and provide them with access to their historical invoices.

  • REST API for Integration
Cloutility is designed with an API-first approach. All features and data available in the Cloutility web-portal UI can also be accessed via its comprehensive REST-based API. This makes it easy to integrate with external applications such as ERP systems, business intelligence (BI) tools, user portals, billing systems, and support desks.

  • Centralized Administration
Backup administrators can manage the entire backup infrastructure from a single Cloutility instance, even if backup or data protection servers are located across multiple physical locations. The platform includes an advanced management console for IBM Storage Protect, with results presented in filterable and sortable tables for ease of use.

  • Custom Reporting
Stop wasting time and resources building your own user-friendly reports. Cloutility offers plug-and-play reports that can be easily customized to meet the diverse requirements of thousands of end users. Each tenant has access to current and historical reports for their hierarchy, showing alerts, usage over time, and more. Reports can also be delivered via email at set intervals, ensuring users get the information they need without logging in.

  • Provisioning
Cloutility allows users to handle the activation and scheduling of new backups without needing extensive administrative skills. Simply define the process and standard settings, and let your users manage the rest, while you maintain a clean and organized infrastructure.

  • Efficient Support

Support a large number of business units and end users efficiently by defining and tailoring reports and alerts to your support team's needs. You can simulate end-user views to provide accurate assistance during support sessions. If you have a reseller network, support tasks can be delegated to individual resellers, allowing them to support their own customers—demonstrating business scalability in action.
